Mattress amnesty Dublin 2023

Disposing of old mattresses can be challenging and costly for households. One option is to visit local civic amenity sites or mattress recycling centers. However, transporting a mattress to these sites can be cumbersome and may require a vehicle large enough to accommodate it.

If you have a car with a small boot, rolling up the mattress and securing it with rope might be a solution, though it usually requires two people. Alternatively, using a van can make the transport more manageable.

Before deciding on a method, check with the specific recycling facility or civic amenity site for their requirements and any associated fees. Some mattress retailers or manufacturers may also offer disposal services or take back old mattresses when delivering new ones. Always prioritize responsible disposal methods to contribute to recycling efforts and reduce the environmental impact of mattress disposal.
