Clondalkin Credit Union is a financial institution that has been serving the people of Clondalkin, Dublin, and its surrounding areas for over 50 years. Founded in 1965, Clondalkin Credit Union was established to provide financial services to its members, with the goal of helping them achieve financial stability and independence.

Today, it is is one of the largest credit unions in Ireland, with over 33,000 members and over €70 million in assets. The credit union offers a wide range of financial services, including savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and insurance products, to its members.

Tower Credit Union Ltd (formerly known as Clondalkin Credit Union Ltd) was founded on Friday 28th September 1962 at a general meeting held in the library on Monastery Road. Forty five people were present at the inaugural general meeting.

The initial savings of the credit union amounted to £101, which was collected from the 45 members present at the inaugural meeting. Today, Tower Credit Union has grown to over 47,000 members with savings in excess of €175 million and loans of over €47 million.

Clondalkin Credit Union was the first credit union to register with the Registrar of Friendly Societies following the passing of the Credit Union Act, 1966.

· On the 29th of September 2015, The Four Corners Credit Union merged with Clondalkin Credit Union.

· On the 15th of September 2017, Neillstown Credit Union merged with Clondalkin Credit Union.

· Tower Credit Union, rebranded on 30th July 2018.

· On the 18th June 2019, Tower Credit Union opened its doors in CItywest Shopping Centre, extending our services to the wider common bond.

· On the 27th September 2021, Greenhills and District Credit Union merged with Tower Credit Union.

· On 17th September 2022, Celbridge District Credit Union merged with Tower Credit Union.

We now serve a large geographical area including Brittas, Celbridge, Citywest, Clondalkin, Greenhills, Neilstown, Newcastle, Park West, Rathcoole and Saggart. If you live or work in any of these locations we would love to have you as a member.


One of the unique aspects of Tower Credit Union is its focus on the community. The credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution, which means that it is owned and operated by its members, rather than by outside shareholders. This structure allows to prioritize the needs of its members and the local community.

In addition to providing financial services, Tower Credit Union is also involved in a variety of community initiatives and projects. For example, the credit union sponsors local sports teams and events, supports charities and non-profit organizations, and provides financial education programs to schools and community groups.

The credit union’s online banking platform, called “CU Online,” allows members to check their account balances, view transaction history, transfer funds between accounts, and pay bills online. The mobile banking app, called “CU Anywhere,” provides similar functionality and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
